70 Poems in 70 Days

The 70 poems in 70 days challenge is a wonderful opportunity for Metro State students, employees, and alums, to explore poetry, build a daily writing habit, and connect with fellow writers!

Starting January 1, 2026, participants will write one poem per day for 70 days. Here’s how it works:

  • Each poem must have a working title.
  • Weekly email check-ins: on Sundays every week, share your poem titles with the 70/70 group.
  • Monthly meeting check-ins: Join us 30 minutes before our regular Get Lit meetings (5:00 PM) to discuss progress, challenges, and insights.
  • Optional time limits: You can set a daily writing timer (e.g. 15 minutes) to make the challenge manageable. Of course, feel free to write longer if inspiration strikes!
  • Reflect on patterns: Over time, observe themes or recurring ideas in your work that you may want to develop further. You may find yourself with a tailored collection at the end.

If you’d like to join the 70/70 group or have any questions, please contact Suzanne Nielsen. NOTE: You must be a Metro State student, employee, or alumni to join the 70/70 group.
