Library closing over break for remodel!

After December 10, 2022 and through January 2, 2023, the Metro State Library will be closed. The closure of the physical library is to make some exciting improvements to the first floor of the Metro State Library. Improvement highlights include flexible furniture such as height-adjustable computer tables, reconfiguration of user spaces to better consider safe physical distancing, a one-stop desk for circulation and information commons services, new furniture in a relaxing yet fun color palette, and a net gain of six study rooms.

Although the library is physically closed, resources are always available at the Library Website, library.metrostate.edu, and staff will be monitoring and answering emails on business days that are not University holidays. Note, however, that due to the closure for the first floor renovation and the winter break, interlibrary loan (ILL) services are unavailable from December 23 through January 2. Requests for physical materials, e.g. print books, will not be processed until January 3. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The Dayton’s Bluff branch of the St. Paul Public Library will be closed the same dates. The campus bookstore will remain open December 12th through 16th to accommodate book returns from the fall semester’s courses. Their hours will be 10:00 – 6:00 p.m. December 12th through the 15th and 10:00 – 2:00 p.m. December 16th.

We in the library look forward to welcoming the campus and neighborhood communities into the refreshed, more contemporary, and more flexible library space in January!
