Computers and Printing

University students, faculty, and staff may use the library scanners, copiers, printers, PC laptops, Macs, and Desktop PCs with a variety of software in support of learning, scholarship, and creative endeavors at Metro State University. Some equipment is available for checkout, as described below.

Software

Students can access lab computer software remotely through the Virtual Computer Lab. For assistance with login, installation, and use, see Metro’s Technology Services’ knowledge base articles about the Virtual Lab. 

Loaner Laptop Program

Students can check out a Dell PC laptop, due on the last day of the semester. To reserve, email your name and Star ID to library.laptops@metrostate.edu. You may also phone 651.793.1634 or stop by the first-floor desk of the library to inquire.  

Printing

Library printing, both black-and-white and color, is free to all current students and employees. Scanner/printer/copier machines are available on both floors. Select printer “Metro-Print” and release your job from any machine.

Wireless printing is available for any device connected to the Eduroam wireless network by using WebPrint. See these detailed printing instructions.

• 4 desktop PCs (first floor) – 2 (60 minute) login/reservations per day
• 2 Chromebooks
• Printing:
  • Black-and-white printing: $0.15 per page
  • Color printing: $0.75 per page.
